Q: WHY IS VITALOILS1000™ MORE EXPENSIVE THAN SOME OTHER BRANDS?

A:

NOT ALL FISH OIL SUPPLEMENTS ARE CREATED EQUAL.

VitalOils1000™ is truly a one of a kind product, formulated by a nationally recognized, practicing preventative cardiologist and cholesterol expert. VitalOils1000™ is the only fish oil supplement to meet the American Heart Association recommendation for patients with coronary artery disease in just one soft gel. This is by far one of the most potent soft gel on the market, including prescription brands. VitalOils1000™ is purified through a state-of-the-art process utilizing supercritical fluid technology (SFC) which allows for exceptional purity and is free of any organic solvent. It is enteric coated (to avoid the common fishy aftertaste/burp), analyzed by independent FDA registered laboratories for purity and safety, and packaged individually for your convenience and protection. It is truly a superb product, one which we are proud to offer you, and one which we are confident you will respect and enjoy, as you do your best to achieve optimal health .

Q: CAN I TAKE VITALOILS1000™ IF I HAVE A FISH ALLERGY?

A: Fish allergies come in a variety of forms. This is a question you should definitely ask your physician. If your doctor wishes to speak directly with one of our medical doctors, please ask him or her to contact us, and we will be happy to answer any questions.

Q: ARE OMEGA-3 ETHYL ESTER LESS BIOAVAILABLE THAN THEIR TRIGLYCERIDE FORM?

A: VitalOils1000™, just as most pharmaceutical Omega-3 pharma products, is a highly purified and concentrated omega-3 ethyl ester formulation. Taken on an empty stomach (fasted state) the ethyl-ester (EE) are less bioavailable as the triglyceride (TG) form. However, taken together with a meal the EE show a very similar absorption behavior compared to the TG-form. Therefore it is always recommended to take your VitalOils1000™together with a meal (preferably dinner). This will not only ensure best absorption, but will additionally avoid a seldom occurring fishy aftertaste and will provide your body and especially your brain sufficient DHA for replacing and repairing oxidized and damaged DHA in your cell membranes while you are asleep at night.

Q: DO I NEED TO STORE MY VITALOILS1000™ IN THE REFRIGERATOR?

A: It is not necessary to store VitalOils1000™ in the refrigerator. In fact, storing your fish oil capsules at too low temperature will create ice crystals in the gelatin which may damage the capsule shell. Oxygen can enter and the valuable oil inside the capsule may oxidize and become worthless. Best is to keep store your capsules in a dry place, protected from direct sunlight and at temperatures between 41°F and 77°F

Q: WHAT IS LOVAZA?

A: Lovaza is an excellent fish oil product only available with a doctor's prescription for patients with very high triglycerides. Lovaza contains 840 mg of combined EPA plus DHA as ethyl ester per soft gel. It is not enteric coated. Vitamin E is the antioxidant used in Lovaza for protection of the oil. When compared to Lovaza, VitalOils1000™ has approx .200 mg more DHA plus EPA per soft gel. It is enteric coated to avoid a fishy aftertaste, and it contains rosemary and vitamin C instead of vitamin E to protect its oils. Recent literature has found vitamin C and rosemary to be superior to vitamin E for protecting oils. VitalOils1000™ also does not require a prescription.

Q: WHAT IS VASCEPA?

A: Vascepa is relative new, highly concentrated EPA-ethyl-ester drug produced from fish oil and only available with a doctor's prescription for patients with very high to medium-high triglycerides. Vascepa contains 965 mg of purified EPA and basically no DHA per soft gel. It is not enteric coated. Vitamin E is the antioxidant used in Lovaza for protection of the oil. When compared to Vascepa, VitalOils1000™ has a little more more DHA plus EPA per soft gel.

Q: DOES DHA INCREASE LDL-CHOLESTEROL AND THUS THE CARDIOVASCULAR RISK?

A: Recently a pharma drug company specialized in a highly purified EPA-EE concentrate, free of DHA claims that DHA increases the LDL-Cholesterol and thus the cardiovascular risk for the patients. This is not totally correct. Indeed studies have shown, that the overall concentration of LDL-Cholesterol increases slightly(!) with DHA intake. However, the cardiovascular risk increases only with the increase in apoB-100 lipoprotein (part of LDL-Cholesterol). An increase in apoB-100 was not observed in any of the studies - thus, even though DHA may increase slightly your LDL-Cholesterol it has no negative effect on your cardiovascular risk. If anything, studies have shown that DHA actually has a more pronounced overall health benefit than pure EPA.  Additionally, DHA is an essential building block of all body cells, especially brain and eyes. A deficiency in DHA leads to dementia, memory, loss, brain shrinkage, loss of vision and many more. Therefore, it is highly recommended to supplement both EPA and DHA. Both of them are of utmost importance to our body. Some specialists warn that a prolonged intake of only EPA (no DHA) my displace in the long-term DHA from the retina- and brain cell membranes, which would lead to serious consequences.VitalOils1000™ contains both DHA and EPA (1000 mg/capsule) and thus ensures optimal protection.

Q: WHAT ABOUT KRILL OIL?

A: Krill oil in its natural form has much lower levels of DHA and EPA and also has an attached phospholipid group. The Krill oil marketing contention is that in our bodies DHA and EPA exist as phospholipids. Although that is largely true, when we ingest and absorb Krill oil we have to remove DHA and EPA from the phospholipid! Therefore Krill oil DHA and EPA becomes a free fatty acid, the same as VitalOils1000. There is one major difference, however, VitalOils1000 gives us far more DHA and EPA than does Krill oil, and it is the DHA and EPA that are the active ingredients conveying health benefits.

Q: I HAVE SEEN THAT SOME FISH OIL PRODUCTS CLAIM TO HAVE NO TOXINS WHATSOEVER. ARE THEY TELLING THE TRUTH?

A: We have done extensive research and development in order to refine our fish oil product to such an extent as to produce the most potent omega-3 fish oil product on the market with or without a prescription. In all of our research, we have never come across an oil that is "completely free" of dioxins, furans and PCBs. VitalOils1000™is purified through a state-of-the-art process utilizing supercritical fluid technology which allows for exceptional purity. The quantities of impurities found within VitalOils1000™ fall well below required standards, making VitalOils1000™ an extraordinarily well-purified product. As these impurities are measured in parts per trillion, however, tiny traces still do remain. If you do find a product that claims to be "completely free" of all contaminants, such as PCBs, dioxins and furans, please ask the manufacturer to show you their independent assay, proving this claim. If they send it to you, please forward us a copy as well so that we can understand how this claim may be possible.
